Quick answer
Where can a startup register an offshore domain without KYC?
For startups and SaaS teams, as of 19 October 2026, a .com costs $11.99/year at Isthmus Domains, a .io $34.49 for the first year, and a .ai $85.49 a year, paid in USDC, USDT or Bitcoin. Isthmus Domains is an offshore domain registrar in Panama: register any domain with no KYC and pay in crypto.
What a startup gets
| .com | $11.99 first year, $11.99 renewal |
|---|---|
| .io | $34.49 first year, $52.99 renewal |
| .ai | $85.49 a year, sold 2 years at a time |
| .app / .dev | $8.99 / $8.99 first year; HTTPS required by the registry |
| DNS | free DNS hosting with A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT and CAA records, or your own nameservers (2 to 13) |
| Renewal | automatic renewal from your balance, switched on or off for each domain |
| Identity | No ID; one verified email per domain |
| Payment | BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC; minimum top-up $25 |
Why would a startup register its domain offshore?
For three practical reasons: no ID upload, payment from a crypto treasury, and a clear rule on complaints.
A domain is often bought on day one, before the company exists or has a bank account. At Isthmus Domains, a founder needs one email, not a passport scan or a selfie. Teams that hold USDC or USDT can pay without converting to a card. And a competitor's complaint about your product name does not take the site offline: we act on a decision from a Panamanian court, not on a complaint alone. Trademark disputes follow the UDRP, as at every registrar.
Which extension should a SaaS product choose: .com, .io or .ai?
Pick on price over several years, not only the first one.
- .com costs $11.99/year and renews at the same price. It is the default most customers type.
- .io starts at $34.49 and renews at $52.99. Budget for the renewal, since you pay it every year after the first. See .io.
- .ai costs $85.49 a year and is sold 2 years at a time, so the first payment covers two years. See .ai.
- .app and .dev start at $8.99 and $8.99. Their registry forces HTTPS, so the site must have a certificate before it loads in a browser.

Should the domain be in the founder's name or in a company name?
It depends on who should appear in the registry. By default, the domain is registered in your name, with WHOIS privacy where the registry allows it. That suits a team that will later move the domain to its own company.
With Domain protection, at +$29 a year per domain, the registrant record and WHOIS show DomaineGoat LLC, never you. The transfer lock is on by default, and every transfer or DNS change must be confirmed from your account. You stay the beneficiary, and we put the domain back in your name on request, at no charge. Some investors ask to see the domain in the company's own name during due diligence: plan that step before a funding round.
How does a team pay from a crypto treasury?
Top up one balance and pay every registration and renewal from it. The minimum top-up is $25. Send the exact amount shown, on the right network; the order page shows each step, and the top-up is credited once the network confirms it.
Stablecoins keep the maths simple: a $11.99 .com is paid with the same dollar amount in USDC or USDT. Unused balance stays on your account and never expires, and it pays for new domains, renewals and transfers. When a purchase costs less than the minimum top-up, the part added only to reach the minimum is refundable on request to support within 30 days of the payment, in USDT or USDC, as long as it has not been spent. The rest of the balance is not paid back, except where the law requires it. Details: pay with crypto.
What does not change for a startup domain offshore?
The registry and ICANN rules stay the same. Verisign runs .com from the United States as a thin registry, with no registrant contact data; each other registry has its own rules. ICANN requires the registrant contact to be verified: the registrant email is verified after registration, as ICANN rules require (within 15 days). Domains are registered through our ICANN-accredited registrar partner.
Your hosting, your CDN and your payment provider also keep their own policies. A domain under Panamanian process does not change what those companies accept. And phishing, malware, botnets, child sexual abuse material and fraud that takes money from victims lead to suspension within 24 hours of a well-documented report, here as elsewhere.

Startups and SaaS: FAQ
Can a startup register a domain before the company is incorporated?
Yes. Isthmus Domains needs one verified email per domain, not company papers or an ID. You can register the domain in a founder's name now and keep it there, or add Domain protection so the registrant record shows DomaineGoat LLC. Later, the domain can move to your own company with a transfer code, free, requested from the client area.
Can we pay for domains in USDC?
Yes, USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20). We also accept USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20), Bitcoin, Ether, Solana and Litecoin. You top up a balance from $25 and pay registrations and renewals from it. Cards and bank transfers are not accepted.
What happens if a competitor complains about our domain?
A complaint alone does not get the domain suspended. The competitor needs a decision from a Panamanian court, and a foreign judgment must first be recognised in Panama. If the complaint is about a trademark, it can go through the UDRP instead: the domain is locked within 2 business days of a request from a UDRP provider, and the panel's decision is applied.
Is .io or .ai better for a SaaS product?
Both work for tech products. For .io, the first year is $34.49 and each renewal $52.99. A .ai costs $85.49 a year, sold 2 years at a time. Compare the renewal prices over three to five years before you pick, and check the extension pages for registry rules.
Will our domain go offline if a payment is missed?
Not if automatic renewal is on and the balance covers it: we offer automatic renewal from your balance, switched on or off for each domain. Keep enough on the balance before each renewal date. Unused balance does not expire, so topping up early costs nothing extra.
Can investors check who owns the domain?
Yes. Without Domain protection, you are the registrant of record: the registrant record is yours, even when WHOIS privacy hides your email from the public. With Domain protection, the registrant record shows DomaineGoat LLC, and you remain the beneficiary. If an investor needs the domain in your company's own name, ask us: the hand-back is free.
