Quick answer

Can I buy a domain with crypto offshore?

Yes. As of 19 October 2026, you top up a balance from $25 in BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL or LTC, then pay each domain from it; a .com costs $11.99/year. Isthmus Domains is an offshore domain registrar in Panama: register any domain with no KYC and pay in crypto. Monero is not accepted.

Coins and networks we accept

Send each coin on the network listed here, and only that network. The same coin on another network cannot be credited.

The number of confirmations each network needs, and the usual time, are in the payment table further down this page.

How does a crypto top-up work?

You choose an amount, a coin and a network, and the payment page shows what to send. Send the exact amount shown, on the right network. The order page shows each step, and the top-up is credited once the network confirms it.

If you started from a domain search, the top-up is the price of your cart, or $25 when the cart costs less. The domains in the cart are registered once the top-up is credited, usually within minutes of the top-up being credited; a few extensions take a few hours.

Prices are set in US dollars. The crypto amount you send is calculated from the dollar amount when you open the payment page.

What happens to the money left on my balance?

It stays on your account for later. The rule in full: Unused balance stays on your account and never expires, and it pays for new domains, renewals and transfers. When a purchase costs less than the minimum top-up, the part added only to reach the minimum is refundable on request to support within 30 days of the payment, in USDT or USDC, as long as it has not been spent. The rest of the balance is not paid back, except where the law requires it.

In practice, one top-up can pay for several things over time:

  • a new domain, for example a .io at $34.49/year the first year;
  • the renewals of your other domains, with automatic renewal from your balance, switched on or off for each domain;
  • a transfer from another registrar, at the renewal price;
  • Domain protection, at $29 a year per domain.

What payment methods are not accepted?

Isthmus Domains accepts crypto only, and only the coins and networks in the table above.

  • Monero (XMR): not accepted.
  • Bitcoin Lightning: not accepted; send Bitcoin on-chain.
  • BNB Chain (BEP-20 tokens): not accepted.
  • Cards, PayPal and bank transfers: not accepted. There is no card form on the site.

If Monero matters to you, Njalla and OrangeWebsite accept it, as of October 2026. The Njalla comparison and the OrangeWebsite comparison set out the other differences.

I sent the wrong coin or used the wrong network: what now?

Write to [email protected] with the transaction ID (TXID) before you send anything else. A coin sent on a network we do not list may not be recoverable, so check the network name twice.

We never ask for your password, your account number or your domain transfer (EPP) codes by email or chat. Support will never need your wallet's seed phrase either. Our support line: Email replies within 12 hours, 7 days a week, including help with DNS, transfers and renewals.

How payment works

  1. Top up $25 or more

    Choose the amount and the coin (BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC). The crypto amount and its rate are locked for 30 minutes.

  2. Send it to the address shown, on the exact network

    The payment page shows our deposit address for the coin and network you picked: BTC on Bitcoin, USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20), USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20), ETH on Ethereum, SOL on Solana, LTC on Litecoin. Send only that coin on that network: funds sent on another network or in another coin can’t be recovered. The network fee comes on top of the amount.

  3. Send the exact amount shown, then click “I’ve sent the payment”

    Each top-up has its own exact amount (down to the last decimals): that is how we find your payment and link it to your account.

  4. Credited once your payment is checked on the blockchain

    Your balance is credited once we have checked the transaction on the blockchain, after the network has confirmed it. Typical network confirmation times:

    CryptoNetworkConfirmationsUsual time
    BTCBitcoin2≈ 20 min
    USDTTron (TRC-20)20≈ 1 min
    USDTEthereum (ERC-20)12≈ 5 min
    USDCEthereum (ERC-20)12≈ 5 min
    ETHEthereum12≈ 5 min
    SOLSolana1≈ 1 min
    LTCLitecoin6≈ 15 min
  5. One balance for every domain

    If you started from a domain search, the top-up is the price of your cart (or the minimum, for a smaller cart), and the domains in your cart are registered once the top-up is credited. What is left stays on your balance for renewals, transfers, Domain protection and new domains. Unused balance stays on your account and never expires, and it pays for new domains, renewals and transfers. When a purchase costs less than the minimum top-up, the part added only to reach the minimum is refundable on request to support within 30 days of the payment, in USDT or USDC, as long as it has not been spent. The rest of the balance is not paid back, except where the law requires it.

Closed the tab? The pending top-up stays under Billing in your account: open it to see the address and the exact amount again.

Paying with crypto: FAQ

What is the minimum crypto payment?

The minimum top-up is $25. If your cart costs less, for example one .com at $11.99/year, the difference stays on your balance. Under our balance rule, the part added only to reach the minimum can be refunded on request within 30 days, in USDT or USDC, if it has not been spent.

Which coin costs the least to send?

It depends on the network fees of the day, which your wallet shows before you send. USDT on Tron (TRC-20), Solana and Litecoin usually cost little to send. Ethereum fees vary more. The price of the domain does not change with the coin you choose.

How long does a top-up take to be credited?

It is credited once the network confirms it. Each coin needs a set number of confirmations, listed in the payment table on this page with the usual time. After that, a domain is registered usually within minutes of the top-up being credited; a few extensions take a few hours. We do not promise a fixed time, because block times vary.

I closed the payment page. Is my payment lost?

No. The payment is linked to your account, and you can reopen it from the client area. If the transaction was sent, it is credited once the network confirms it. If you need help, write to support with the transaction ID (TXID).

Is my balance refundable?

Only in one case. When a purchase costs less than the minimum top-up, the extra part paid just to reach $25 can be refunded on request, within 30 days, in USDT or USDC, as long as it is unspent. Everything else on the balance is kept for new domains, renewals, transfers and Domain protection, and it never expires.

Why not accept cards?

Because a card payment comes with the cardholder's name and bank, and it can be reversed by a chargeback. Crypto keeps the checkout free of bank details and identity checks. It also means the price you see is the price you pay, with no card fee on top.
