Quick answer

What is Isthmus Domains, in one paragraph?

Isthmus Domains is an offshore domain registrar in Panama: register any domain with no KYC and pay in crypto. As of 19 October 2026, a .com costs $11.99/year with WHOIS privacy included. We act on Panamanian court orders, not on complaints alone, and handle phishing, malware and fraud on a well-documented report.

About Isthmus Domains

Who runs Isthmus Domains?

Isthmus Domains is run by DomaineGoat LLC, a company incorporated in Panama, which is not an ICANN-accredited registrar. Domains are registered through our ICANN-accredited registrar partner. More on about Isthmus Domains.

What does offshore mean for my domain?

It means the company that manages your domain is in Panama, so Panamanian law decides how complaints and data requests are handled. The domain itself still follows ICANN rules and the rules of its registry, such as Verisign for .com. Offshore is not above the law. The full explanation is on offshore domain registration.

Why Panama?

Panama has a data protection law, Ley 81 of 2019, in force since 29 March 2021, and its Constitution protects private documents in article 29. A foreign judgment has no effect on us until Panama's Supreme Court (Fourth Chamber) recognises it. This is not legal advice; the sources are on why Panama.

Is Isthmus Domains the right choice for me?

It fits if you want a domain paid in crypto, with no ID check, and complaints about your content judged by a court rather than a form. It does not fit if you need Monero or a card payment. It does not fit a project built on phishing, malware or fraud either: those domains are suspended on a well-documented report. Compare prices on offshore registrars compared by price (2026).

In most countries, yes: buying a domain from a registrar abroad is an ordinary commercial choice. Your content is still judged by the law that applies to you, wherever the registrar is. This is not legal advice. Our guide is offshore domain registration legal? explains the details and the usual limits.

Privacy and KYC

Do you check my identity?

No. Isthmus Domains runs no KYC: no passport, no ID card, no selfie and no ID number. The only contact data we collect is one email address for each domain, required and verified: the registrant email is verified after registration, as ICANN rules require (within 15 days). Opening the account itself needs no email. That email is kept private and stays out of the public record wherever the registry allows privacy. Details on register a domain without KYC.

What does the public WHOIS show for my domain?

The registrar, the creation and expiry dates, the status codes and the nameservers. Your email is redacted wherever the extension allows privacy, under the ICANN Registration Data Policy in effect since 21 August 2025; what stays public depends on each registry. For .com and .net, Verisign's RDAP holds no registrant contact data at all. With Domain protection, the record shows DomaineGoat LLC. Check it yourself with our guide on what WHOIS shows.

When do you give my data to someone else?

We release the data we hold only when Panamanian law requires it (a Panamanian court or prosecutor's order), or in a UDRP case. A foreign lawyer, a private company or a foreign government needs Panamanian legal process first. With Domain protection, the registrant record carries the details of DomaineGoat LLC, not yours.

What is Domain protection?

An option at $29 a year per domain, on top of the domain price. The domain is registered in the name of DomaineGoat LLC, the transfer lock is on by default, your data is kept to the minimum, and a person reads every complaint before any action on the domain, a review that comes only with the option. You stay the beneficiary. See Domain protection.

Is a domain with Domain protection still mine?

Yes. Our company is the registrant of record, and you are the beneficiary with full control of DNS, nameservers and renewals. The transfer code is free, and on request we hand the domain over to your own name at no cost. These rights are written in the terms of service.

Why must I confirm an email after registration?

Because ICANN's 2013 Registrar Accreditation Agreement requires every registrar to verify the registrant email or phone within 15 days. We verify the email. If it is not confirmed in time, the domain can be suspended until it is. Use an address you will keep, since renewal notices go there too.

Payment

Which cryptocurrencies do you accept?

Six coins: Bitcoin on-chain, USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20), USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20), Ether, Solana and Litecoin. You send them to top up a balance, then pay domains from it. The networks and the confirmations each one needs are on pay with crypto.

Do you accept Monero?

No. Monero (XMR) is not accepted, and neither are Bitcoin Lightning or BNB Chain tokens. If Monero is a must for you, Njalla and OrangeWebsite accept it as of October 2026. Our accepted coins are BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC.

Can I pay by card, PayPal or bank transfer?

No. Isthmus Domains accepts crypto only. There is no card form, no PayPal button and no bank account to wire to. This keeps the checkout free of bank details and identity checks. If you do not hold crypto yet, you need a wallet with one of the six accepted coins.

What is the minimum top-up?

The minimum top-up is $25. If your cart costs less, the rest stays on your balance for later. When a purchase costs less than the minimum, the part added only to reach it can be refunded on request within 30 days, in USDT or USDC, if it has not been spent.

Does my balance expire?

No. Whatever you do not spend stays on your account with no end date, and it can pay for new domains, renewals, transfers and Domain protection later. Only the part added to a small purchase to reach the $25 minimum can be paid back, on request within 30 days, in USDT or USDC. The rest is not refunded, except where the law requires it.

Prices and extensions

How much does a .com cost?

A .com costs $11.99/year the first year and $11.99/year to renew, as of 19 October 2026. WHOIS privacy is included at no extra cost. A transfer from another registrar costs $11.99/year and adds a year to the expiry date. Domain protection, if you want it, adds $29 a year. Every other extension is in the price grid.

How much do .io and .ai cost?

A .io costs $34.49/year the first year, then $52.99/year to renew. A .ai costs $85.49/year, and its registry sells it 2 years at a time, so the first order covers 2 years. Both have their own pages: .io and .ai.

Which extensions do you sell?

Generic extensions such as .com, .net and .org, newer ones such as .io, .ai, .app, .dev and .xyz, and several country codes. 32 of them have a detailed page with their registry and rules. All are listed with prices on domain extensions.

Why are some extensions sold with Domain protection only?

Their registries want a name and a postal address for the registrant. We do not ask for yours, so these domains are registered in the name of DomaineGoat LLC. They are .de, .uk, .nl, .cc, .to, .ch, .pl, .be, .at, .cz, .nz, .fi. Their shown price already includes the $29 a year for Domain protection, for example $36.99/year for a .de.

Are you cheaper than other registrars?

Than some offshore ones, yes; than every registrar, no. We do not claim to be the cheapest registrar. Our .com at $11.99/year costs less than Njalla's €15 (checked 8 October 2026), but Porkbun ($11.08) and Cloudflare ($10.46) charge less. See the offshore price index 2026.

Complaints, abuse and disputes

Can a complaint get my domain suspended?

Not on its own. Complaints about copyright, defamation or politics, or sent by a competitor, wait for a decision from a Panamanian court. A judgment from another country counts only once Panama has recognised it. Only five kinds of abuse lead to action on a well-documented report: phishing, malware, botnets and fraud that takes money from victims (within 24 hours of a well-documented report), and child sexual abuse material (immediately, with a report to the competent hotline or authority). See complaints and court orders.

Do you act on DMCA notices?

A DMCA notice is a US procedure. We reply within 2 business days and act only on a decision that binds us: a Panamanian court decision, or a foreign judgment recognised in Panama. Your host, the registry and our accredited registrar partner may apply their own policies. Phishing, malware, botnets and fraud on victims are suspended within 24 hours of a well-documented report, and CSAM is handled immediately.

What counts as abuse?

Phishing (including pharming), malware, botnets, child sexual abuse material, and fraud that takes money from victims: fake shops, investment and crypto scams, wallet drainers, impersonation of a bank or brand, and the sale of stolen data. Spam counts only when it carries one of these. We suspend these within 24 hours of a well-documented report (CSAM: immediately).

How do I report abuse?

Write to [email protected]; you do not need an account. Include the domain, the exact URL, the type of abuse and your evidence. You receive an acknowledgement with a reference number. Reports about child sexual abuse material are handled immediately, with a report to the competent hotline or authority. The full process is on abuse reports.

What happens in a trademark dispute?

On generic extensions such as .com, it goes through the UDRP, the procedure ICANN requires; country codes follow their registry's own dispute policy. The domain is locked within 2 business days of a request from a UDRP provider, the dispute provider receives the registrant record, and we apply the panel decision. With Domain protection, we tell you about the complaint so you can defend yourself. See UDRP disputes.

What content is not allowed?

Abuse in the strict sense above leads to suspension. Other disputes, such as copyright, defamation, drugs and weapons content, sanctions questions or content a court ordered removed, go to a Panamanian court, or the UDRP for trademarks. The rules are on the acceptable use policy.

Managing your domains

How fast is a domain registered?

A domain is registered usually within minutes of the top-up being credited; a few extensions take a few hours. The time before that depends on your coin: each network needs a set number of confirmations, listed with the usual time on pay with crypto. A failed order is not lost money: if a domain cannot be registered (taken in the meantime, registry refusal), the full amount goes back to your balance. You can then pick another name.

Is DNS included?

Yes, at no cost: we include free DNS hosting with A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT and CAA records, or your own nameservers (2 to 13). You can switch between our DNS and your own nameservers at any time from your account, and the change reaches the registry once you save it. If Domain protection is on, each DNS change is confirmed from your account first. Support can help with DNS settings. Our support line: Email replies within 12 hours, 7 days a week, including help with DNS, transfers and renewals.

How do renewals work?

Renewals are paid from your balance at the renewal price of the grid. The rule: automatic renewal from your balance, switched on or off for each domain. Keep enough balance before the expiry date, or top up from $25. The renewal column of the price grid shows what each year will cost.

Can I transfer a domain in or out?

Yes, both ways. A transfer in costs the renewal price and adds a year on gTLDs such as .com; a .ai transfer is billed 2 years (transfer + 1 renewal) and adds 2 years. A transfer out is free: the code is free, requested from the client area. ICANN rules block a transfer for 60 days after a gTLD registration or transfer. Steps on how it works.
