How offshore domain registration works at Isthmus Domains

What happens between the moment you type a name and the moment it resolves, and what you manage afterwards: DNS, renewals, transfers and Domain protection.

Quick answer

How do I register an offshore domain with Isthmus Domains?

On 19 October 2026, registering a domain at Isthmus Domains takes four moves: search a name, open an account, top up from $25 in crypto, then confirm the registrant email. A .com costs $11.99/year. Isthmus Domains is an offshore domain registrar in Panama: register any domain with no KYC and pay in crypto.

The process at a glance

What you needOne email address you can read for each domain (the only contact data we collect), and crypto in a wallet
DocumentsNone: no ID, no selfie, no ID number
Minimum top-up$25
CoinsBTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC
Registration timeRegistered usually within minutes of the top-up being credited; a few extensions take a few hours
Email checkRequired for each domain: the registrant email is verified after registration, as ICANN rules require (within 15 days)
Failed orderOur rule: if a domain cannot be registered (taken in the meantime, registry refusal), the full amount goes back to your balance

Six steps from a name to a live domain

  1. Search the name

Type a name in the domain search. Most extensions show availability live from the registry (RDAP). For .io, .co, .me, .tv, .gg, .to and .cc, availability is confirmed when you order.

  2. Open an account

Opening the account itself needs no email and no document: no ID upload, no selfie, no ID number. The email comes later, one for each domain.

  3. Top up in crypto

Choose a coin and its network. Send the exact amount shown, on the right network. The order page shows each step, and the top-up is credited once the network confirms it.

  4. The domain is registered

Registration happens usually within minutes of the top-up being credited; a few extensions take a few hours. A failed order is not lost money: if a domain cannot be registered (taken in the meantime, registry refusal), the full amount goes back to your balance.

  5. Confirm the registrant email

Each domain needs one verified email. The rule is that the registrant email is verified after registration, as ICANN rules require (within 15 days). You receive a link, and one click is enough.

  6. Point the domain where you want

Use our free DNS or your own nameservers. Add Domain protection now or later from the same screen.

What happens between payment and registration?

Your top-up is credited once the blockchain confirms it, and then the order is sent to the registry. Each coin needs a set number of network confirmations, shown in the payment table below.

If you started from a domain search, the cart is paid from the top-up once it is credited. Whatever is left stays on your balance for renewals, transfers, Domain protection or new domains. That balance does not expire; the full rule is on pay with crypto.

Why do I have to confirm an email after registration?

Because ICANN requires it from every registrar. The 2013 Registrar Accreditation Agreement includes a Whois Accuracy Program: the registrar must verify the registrant's email or phone within 15 days.

At Isthmus Domains, the registrant email is verified after registration, as ICANN rules require (within 15 days). If the link is not confirmed in time, the rules allow the registrar to suspend the domain until it is. The email stays private: it does not appear in the public WHOIS wherever the registry allows privacy. More on this on register a domain without KYC.

What can I manage after registration?

You keep full control of the domain from your account:

  • DNS: we include free DNS hosting with A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT and CAA records, or your own nameservers (2 to 13).
  • Renewals: automatic renewal from your balance, switched on or off for each domain. Renewals are charged at the price in the price grid.
  • Domain protection: add it at any time for $29 a year per domain. The domain is then registered in the name of DomaineGoat LLC, with the transfer lock on by default.
  • Transfer code: free, requested from the client area, with no exit fee.

To see what the public record shows after these changes, follow our guide on checking what WHOIS shows.

How do I move a domain here from another registrar?

Ask your current registrar for the transfer (EPP) code, unlock the domain there, then start the transfer from our domain search. A transfer costs the renewal price of the extension, for example $11.99/year for a .com. A .ai transfer is billed 2 years: the transfer price plus one renewal, $170.98.

On gTLDs such as .com, a completed transfer adds one year to the expiry date. ICANN's Transfer Policy blocks a transfer for 60 days after a registration or a previous transfer. Your website and email keep working during the move if the nameservers stay the same.

Where does Panama come in?

Panama is where the company that sells and manages your domain is incorporated: DomaineGoat LLC, in Panama. That changes who decides on complaints and on requests for your data. We act on Panamanian court orders, not on complaints alone.

It does not change the rules of ICANN or of each registry. Domains are registered through our ICANN-accredited registrar partner. The full picture is on offshore domain registration and why Panama.

How payment works

  1. Top up $25 or more

Choose the amount and the coin (BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC). The crypto amount and its rate are locked for 30 minutes.

  2. Send it to the address shown, on the exact network

The payment page shows our deposit address for the coin and network you picked: BTC on Bitcoin, USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20), USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20), ETH on Ethereum, SOL on Solana, LTC on Litecoin. Send only that coin on that network: funds sent on another network or in another coin can’t be recovered. The network fee comes on top of the amount.

  3. Send the exact amount shown, then click “I’ve sent the payment”

Each top-up has its own exact amount (down to the last decimals): that is how we find your payment and link it to your account.

  4. Credited once your payment is checked on the blockchain

Your balance is credited once we have checked the transaction on the blockchain, after the network has confirmed it. Typical network confirmation times:

    CryptoNetworkConfirmationsUsual time
    BTCBitcoin2≈ 20 min
    USDTTron (TRC-20)20≈ 1 min
    USDTEthereum (ERC-20)12≈ 5 min
    USDCEthereum (ERC-20)12≈ 5 min
    ETHEthereum12≈ 5 min
    SOLSolana1≈ 1 min
    LTCLitecoin6≈ 15 min
  5. One balance for every domain

If you started from a domain search, the top-up is the price of your cart (or the minimum, for a smaller cart), and the domains in your cart are registered once the top-up is credited. What is left stays on your balance for renewals, transfers, Domain protection and new domains. Unused balance stays on your account and never expires, and it pays for new domains, renewals and transfers. When a purchase costs less than the minimum top-up, the part added only to reach the minimum is refundable on request to support within 30 days of the payment, in USDT or USDC, as long as it has not been spent. The rest of the balance is not paid back, except where the law requires it.

Closed the tab? The pending top-up stays under Billing in your account: open it to see the address and the exact amount again.

How it works: FAQ

How long does it take to register a domain?

Registration happens usually within minutes of the top-up being credited; a few extensions take a few hours. The time before that depends on your coin: each network needs a set number of confirmations before the top-up is credited. The payment table on this page gives the usual time per coin and network. Solana and Tron confirm faster than Bitcoin.

Do I need an account to register a domain?

Yes, but opening it needs no email and no document. The account holds your balance, your domains and their settings, and it is where you confirm transfers and DNS changes. Reporting abuse is different: anyone can write to [email protected] without an account, and the report is handled the same way.

What if the domain is taken while I pay?

You keep the money on your balance. Our rule: if a domain cannot be registered (taken in the meantime, registry refusal), the full amount goes back to your balance. You can then pick another name, another extension, or keep the balance for later. Unused balance does not expire.

Can I use my own nameservers?

Yes. You can set between 2 and 13 nameservers of your own, or use our free DNS with A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT and CAA records. You can switch between the two at any time from your account. If Domain protection is on, the change must be confirmed from your account.

How do I contact support?

By email at [email protected]. Our support line: Email replies within 12 hours, 7 days a week, including help with DNS, transfers and renewals. We never ask for your password, your account number or your domain transfer (EPP) codes by email or chat. For abuse reports, write to [email protected] instead.

Can I add Domain protection after registration?

Yes. You can add it from your account at any time, for $29 a year per domain. The registrant record then changes to DomaineGoat LLC. You stay the beneficiary and keep control of DNS, nameservers and renewals. Details on Domain protection.
