Quick answer

Can I buy a .xyz domain offshore with crypto and no ID?

Yes. XYZ.COM LLC, the registry, opens .xyz to everyone, and we ask only for an email you verify. You pay in crypto, privacy is included, and our .xyz renewal does not jump after year one. At Isthmus Domains, an offshore domain registrar in Panama, a .xyz costs $11.99/year the first year and $11.99/year to renew (19 October 2026), paid in crypto with no KYC.

Are there any conditions to hold a .xyz name?

None beyond the usual ICANN rules. XYZ.COM LLC accepts any person or company in any country, and names can describe anything lawful. At our end, one email address, confirmed by a link, is the only personal data we need. We store it privately for account notices. No passport, no selfie, no proof of address. Crypto pays for the order: Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, Litecoin, USDT on TRC-20 or ERC-20, or USDC on ERC-20. A web3 team can therefore register and pay with the wallet tools it already uses. Nothing about the project itself is asked.

What RDAP reveals about a .xyz

Public RDAP for your .xyz shows our privacy service where your contact fields would be. Anyone can still see the registrar, nameservers, creation and expiry dates, and status flags. The registry keeps its own copy of registration data under its rules. Privacy hides who you are, not what the domain does: abuse reports still reach us and are handled under our policy. Use our guide to checking what WHOIS shows after registration.

Domain protection on .xyz

The optional Domain protection registers your .xyz in our company name. The registry and public lookups show us, never you. A transfer lock comes on by default, and any transfer or DNS change must be confirmed from your account. We hold only your email. We release the data we hold only when Panamanian law requires it (a Panamanian court or prosecutor's order), or in a UDRP case. A person reviews every complaint before acting. It adds discretion; it does not change the abuse rules.

Generation.XYZ and the 2014 launch

.xyz went live in the root zone on 19 February 2014 and opened to the public on 2 June 2014. Daniel Negari created the registry, now known as Generation.XYZ, with CentralNic as technical operator. Alphabet chose abc.xyz for its corporate site. Registrations passed 1.5 million by November 2015 and six million by mid-2025, according to Wikipedia. A 2022 analysis found 93% of .xyz names lasted only one year, against 60% for .com and .net. That pattern points to many short-lived projects on the extension.

Reputation and promotions on .xyz

Low prices have drawn abuse. In 2023 the Anti-Phishing Working Group placed .xyz among the five TLDs with the most malicious registrations. Many security vendors block some or all .xyz names, so test email delivery and corporate filters before launch. First-year offers near $2 are common, but renewals often reach $14 or more. We sell .xyz at one price each year. Phishing, wallet drainers and other fraud against victims are suspended on a documented report.

First-year offers vs renewals, dated

Porkbun lists .xyz at $2.04 the first year and $14.21 to renew, checked on 19 October 2026. On 8 October 2026, Namecheap showed $2.20 then $21.68, Dynadot $1.99 then $14.45, and Gandi $1.99 then $39.98. Cloudflare charged $12.30 then $11.20. Njalla sold .xyz for €30 a year. Over five years, the renewal price decides the total.

.xyz questions

Will a .xyz domain hurt my email deliverability?

It can, if filters treat the extension with suspicion. Many anti-malware vendors have blocked all or many .xyz names, according to Wikipedia. Set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC in TXT records, increase sending volume slowly, and test with the mail providers your users rely on. A clean sending history helps over time.

Why is your first-year .xyz price higher than some promotions?

Many registrars sell the first .xyz year near $2, often below wholesale cost, and recover it at renewal. We keep one .xyz price for registration and renewal instead. If you plan to keep the name for several years, add the renewals together before you compare offers.

Does .xyz have premium names?

Yes. The registry prices some names as premium, separately from the standard rate. Standard .xyz names use the price shown above. We have not verified how each premium name is billed, so contact support before ordering one, and expect a price that differs from the grid.

Can I register many .xyz names for one project?

Yes. Add several names to the cart and pay once from your crypto balance. Each name needs a verified email, and each gets WHOIS privacy. Use our DNS editor or your own nameservers for all of them. Agencies managing many names should read agencies and investors.
