Offshore .nl domain with our company as holder

The Netherlands' country code is open to the world, but SIDN wants a holder with an address. We sell .nl with Domain protection only, so that holder is our company.

Quick answer

Can I register a .nl domain offshore without KYC?

Yes, through Domain protection. SIDN records DomaineGoat LLC as holder of your .nl, so the registry gets no personal data from you. We need one verified email and no ID. At Isthmus Domains, an offshore domain registrar in Panama, a .nl costs $37.99/year the first year and $37.99/year to renew (19 October 2026), paid in crypto with no KYC.

SIDN's holder rules and what you give us

SIDN accepts holders from any country. Those outside the Netherlands get a domicile address at SIDN, used to serve legal notices. SIDN still needs a holder with a name and an address, though. Sources disagree on whether some registrars also want a Dutch address. We avoid the question entirely: DomaineGoat LLC is the holder. You give one verified email and no ID. Registry notices go to the holder, our company, which keeps the registry relationship away from your inbox. You pay in crypto and manage DNS, nameservers and renewal yourself.

What SIDN publishes about a .nl

SIDN redacts holder data in its public WHOIS and shows technical details such as registrar, status and nameservers. A query also shows when the domain was registered. For our .nl names the holder is a company, DomaineGoat LLC. Whatever SIDN chooses to show, the holder data on file is our company's, never yours. SIDN keeps that data under Dutch law. Your verified email stays with us, kept private, and is used for account and renewal notices.

Domain protection as the .nl holder

Because SIDN needs a holder, every .nl here uses Domain protection. Our company holds the domain and you are the beneficial owner. The transfer lock is on by default, and no transfer or DNS change happens without your confirmation. We hold only your email. We release the data we hold only when Panamanian law requires it (a Panamanian court or prosecutor's order), or in a UDRP case. A person reviews each complaint before acting. To take the .nl into your own name, transfer it out with the free code.

SIDN, the foundation behind .nl

SIDN, Stichting Internet Domeinregistratie Nederland, is the Dutch foundation that manages .nl, according to IANA. The webhosting.today survey of 6 August 2026 put its wholesale fee at EUR 4.38, about $5.06 a year. .nl ranked among the ten largest country codes in Verisign's Domain Name Industry Brief for the second quarter of 2026. It supports DNSSEC. Amazon's registrar guide lists one-year terms only. .nl disputes follow the registry's own dispute procedure. The domicile address for holders abroad is part of SIDN's rules, per our data of 8 October 2026.

Common reasons to hold a .nl

UseWhy .nl fits
Dutch web shopsPrices in euros and Dutch delivery fit a .nl address.
Dutch-language sitesContent in Dutch under the national ending.
Benelux expansionA first step into the Dutch market before a local entity.
Brand defenceKeep the .nl beside your .com.

Practical limits of a .nl

SIDN applies Dutch law and its own regulations to .nl, whatever our Panamanian policy says. Its copy of the data is our company's, but the domain itself stays under Dutch rules. Terms are one year, so keep auto-renew on. If you later move the .nl to another registrar, check its address rules first, since sources disagree. Fake Dutch web shops that never deliver are fraud and are suspended on a documented report.

The SIDN fee and our total

According to webhosting.today on 6 August 2026, SIDN charges registrars EUR 4.38 a year per .nl, about $5.06. Our total is higher because Domain protection is built in: our company holds the name and answers SIDN. We did not check other registrars' retail .nl prices for this page, so we make no comparison here.

.nl questions

Do I need a Dutch address for a .nl?

Not with us. SIDN gives holders outside the Netherlands a domicile address, and our company is the holder anyway, so you never give an address. Sources disagree on Dutch address rules at some registrars, so check before you transfer a .nl elsewhere.

Who appears as holder of my .nl at SIDN?

DomaineGoat LLC, our company. You stay the beneficial owner, with full control of DNS, nameservers and renewal. The transfer code is free on request from the client area, if you ever want to move the domain. A new registrar would then record its own holder for SIDN.

Can I register a .nl for several years?

Amazon's registrar guide lists .nl at one year at a time, and we follow that. You renew each year from your crypto balance. Auto-renew can be switched on or off for each domain in your account. A lapsed .nl can be registered by someone else, so keep the balance topped up.

Can a Dutch court act on my .nl?

Through SIDN, possibly, since SIDN applies Dutch law. Through us, only after Panama's Supreme Court recognises the judgment. We act on Panamanian court orders, not on complaints alone. SIDN's copy of the data names our company, not you. This is not legal advice.
